New York Part 1

I really was not looking forward to turning 30, we can say I was really upset that the day was approaching. Then I got an idea. I've been wanting to see the Broadway play, "Wicked" for a while now, like 2 years. I really wanted to go to New York City. So what more could make a day I didn't want turn into a day I couldn't wait for, then a trip to the Big Apple. So my wonderful husband, and fabulous family made it all happen for me. Thank You Everyone!!!
We started our trip at the Empire State Building Time Square
Our Tour Bus, in Time Square.
We bought a week subway ticket, and a 3 day guided tour on a tour bus.
They were our transportation for the week.

What we went for. Wicked was everything I hoped it would be...
Very Classic Broadway... A Cute Story.

New York Part 2

The Set of "In the Heights"
I loved this play, Dare I say I loved it maybe even more then "Wicked"
It's about a boy named Usnavy, and his life
It had the best choreography, with hip hop and a little salsa,
and the music moved you... Usnavy would rap.
I don't know but, I loved itWe got tickets for the Late Show.. It was fun The show moved really fast
they did no retakes everything just keep going like on TV...
And David keeps the studio ice cold...
This is our pizza tour guide, we are in a shop were they make pizza ovens...
I thought this kid was so interesting... He had an idea one day to start giving pizza tours in
New York City. He rented a school bus, got his friends together for a birthday party of his, and they went around new york stopping at pizza's places, eating pizzza. From there he marked his idea to a few pizza shops, got on the internet, and next thing he new his rated one of the top things to do in new york... It was a good time. We ate at three different pizza shops in 3 hours.

In central park we "rented" a boy to peddle us around the park in his bike cart.
Now I know how the kids feel in my bike cart.

Of course you can't go to New York with out going to Lady Liberty

the lipstick

Now you might wonder how these things happen...
Too a beautiful blue eye girl as this, but I promise you
this is all her doing...
And it happens to be one of her favorite things to do... I don't know, but the more creative (stinker) my kids are the
funner I think they are, Does this make me a bad mom?
If she wasn't doing things like this... What would I be doing all day, Really
That would be pretty boring... I would have to tell stories about how my two year old is reading?!?
What fun would that be?

EWWW... GROSS

Yes this is what you think it is ...
My worse NIGHTMARE!!!
There is nothing I hate more then gum!!
I don't chew it... I don't let my children chew it.
It's BAD BAD BAD...
So how does this happen you say...
Well we Higley's are lovers of all parades,
especially the ones that throw candy... even gum..
And my incredible stubborn two year old wouldn't
let me have her bag... and look what I got.

Oooo. It makes me want to throw up just looking at the picture..

The Fair

I love two year olds, becaue she has no idea that her ice cream
is much much much small than Kurts she's just glad
she got some.

All Kurt wanted at the fair was this ice cream
he kept seeing people eating it
you can see why...
now isn't that a happy face...

First Day of School

All good things have to come to an end, and so did summer.

The kids are all in school now, and doing well.

Kurt loves preschool, and the bus. On the first day of school I thought I'd be a good mom, and take my preschooler to school, and pick him up. Kurt had other ideas. He was mad at me when I came to pick him up, because he wanted to ride the bus home. How dare I try to be a good mom.

Abby is in the 2nd grade, and loving it. On the first day of school she got to sit by her favorite friend, so all was well with her.

Caitlin is in the 3rd grade, and has a million friends. The first week of school she was invited to do things almost ever night. And all the mothers thanked me, and told me what a happy daughter I have. I think she a pretty wonderful girl too.

Family Fishing Time

We had a fun time on the South Fork with the family on Saturday. We took Bryson's drift boat and loaded up the kids, and down the river we went. The weather was beautiful, and the scenery matched. We couldn't have planned a better day.
We would pull over, let the kids out to play in the water, take a minute to fish, and eat lunch.

Caitlin caught this cut throat all by herself on a fly rod. She cast it her self , presented her fly, caught it and reeled it in all herself. She was really excited, and that says nothing for what her dad was...

Caitlin loved fishing with her dad... She is a natural !!!
I'm glad that he got one kid who loves to fish, almost as much as he does.
She got right in the water in the picture it's almost up to her waist. The water was cold, and when she was done her legs were red, but it didn't seem to bother her.
She was having to much fun.

Kurt loves to make faces when his picture is being taken, and then look to see what he looks like and laugh. I think his pretty funny too.

Summer of Birthdays
We celebrate 3 of our 4 children's birthdays in May and June
So summer is always filled with partying Higley Style.
June 30, 2009
Caitlin turns 9
Caitlin took two of her friends in the neighborhood to the
movies and out for slush's for her birthday,
and then Makenna came back home with us to celebrate.
Caitlin wanted her favorite lemon cake for her birthday
the funny or awful thing is we had to turn it because Kurt ate the
back side of the cake before the party
"that Kid"

June 3, 2009
Morgan turns 2
I made Morgan a purse cake for her birthday.
She loves playing Mommy...
This what she got for her birthday.
We took her to McDonald's for her Birthday Dinner.
McDonald's was one of her first words.
As soon as she shes the golden arches she
get really excited, and screams,
"Mom it McDonald's, McDonald's"

in the bottom of the picture

Kurt's new Bike

Our Trip to Alaska
The Great Gold Rush
When we told Abby that we could go and get real gold
I think she almost explode with excitement
"Real Gold"
I'm sure we spent more money getting gold
then what we got in return, oh well the kids loved it.

I thought this sign explained Alaska best... At least the locals

Our experience with the wild life...
This baby bear was on the side of the road,(we rented a car),
eating the flowers. We also say a lot of sea lions, seals, eagles, a large moose
and more.

We rented a car and took the kids into different parts of Canada.
This picture was taken on our way back to Alaska. The waterfalls we saw were
absolutely beautiful.
